Casa de la Cuesta gallery owners Heidi and Bill Levasseur invite the public to join them for this annual event, saying; “we enjoy hosting Jacobo for Day of the Dead, every year he brings exciting new works that surpass the amazing ones from the year before.” And “no home is complete without something fun from Blanca’s creative imaginings”. Blanca promises to have plenty of the Day of the Dead themed works this year for the show. Heidi will give a talk on the traditions of Day of the Dead Altars both days at 4PM.
Stray Dog Presents, the San Miguel theatre company that brought us sold out performances of Other Desert Cities, God of Carnage and ‘night, Mother will soon be presenting The Other Place by Sharr White. A beautiful, gripping, haunting and very human play about a professional woman who is grappling with her marriage, her career and her life’s darkest secrets. Jill Gottlieb stars. Taylor Korobow directs. Carrie Haugh, Michael Gottlieb and Tim Johnson round out the cast. The original score is written by Alan Campbell and the set is designed by Joseph Kent. They are very proud to present Guillermo Sanchez Romero on cello.
It’s quite a line-up.
The Other Place will be at the Teatro Santa Ana at the biblioteca from October 23 to November 3. Wednesdays through Saturdays at 8, Sundays at 5. All seats, all performances 150 pesos. Tickets are now on sale at the biblioteca box office.
